Montana REAP Data AccessStatewide edge-matched REAP data is now available. Check for Updated files.June 29, 2009 updates to Big Horn, Carter, Powder river, Richland, Roosevelt and Wibaux County data.Public access to this data represents a joint effort by the Montana Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Natural Resource Information System of the Montana State Library. As of Sept. 19, 2008 all Montana counties were updated with the edge-matched statewide version. Each county dataset consists of a 10 meter resolution grid with the relative effective annual precipitation in both centimeters and inches. The data provided here has been calibrated for individual counties and edge-matched to provide consistent values for statewide uses. The table below provides access to the geographic data components of the NRCS REAP data. To download a data file, click the colored icon under the coordinate data type that you want. The REAP data was developed in UTM NAD83 coordinates and should be used in this coordinate system for the most accurate representation of the data. Using the projected data should only be done with the understanding that values will shift and analytical results will vary. The REAP data is also provided in State Plane coordinates to accomodate State of Montana requirements for distribution of geospatial data. To download click the colored icon under the coordinate system column heading. The Time Stamp is an indicator of when the data were last updated. The REAP data values were developed in centimeters. The value in inches was calculated using a conversion factor of 0.3937007874. Refer to the conversion table provided to associate the two values. |
