NRIS, in cooperation with the GIS Bureau of ITSD, and the Department of Revenue, is pleased to announce the availability of updated Cadastral / CAMA shapefiles for your use.

The parcels were obtained in late October from ITSD and the CAMA data was updated in December, 2003. NRIS has selected a subset of CAMA attribute data and joined it to the Cadastral layer and made the results available in ESRI shapefile format at http://nris.state.mt.us/nsdi/cadastral/. We have cooperative procedures in place now between the State Library, ITSD, and DOR to be able to support what we hope will be monthly updates to this data.

The CAMA data will not be updated in January however, as this is when their annual data rollover occurs so the next update will be in February. 

These data are now also available in their updated format via the Digital Atlas of Montana (formerly known as the Thematic Mapper), and also via the new NRIS GIS data bundler.
