New Search Options Available in NRIS Thematic Mapper
NRIS is pleased to announce the availability of 2 new geo-spatial search options in the NRIS Thematic Mapper. User's can now search using the ''Geographic Features" from the USGS Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). The GNIS in Montana contains over 50,000 records of physical and cultural geographic features that are indentified on USGS topographic maps. This powerful tool will provide a 'gazetteer' like search function in the Thematic Mapper.
The second new search type is 'Geographic Coordinates'. This allows search and retrieval of information via Latitude / Longitude coordinate pairs.
We hope these new search options prove useful and improve the overall utility of the NRIS Thematic Mapper.
