Help
The zoomin button allows the user to zoom to a specific portion of the map. To activate the zoomin button, single click on the button. You will know the button has been activated when it turns yellow. Once the button has been activated, click once on the map and hold down the mouse button. Now while holding down the mouse button, drag the mouse in any direction. While dragging you will see a box being drawn on the map page. When you have drawn the box around the area you want to zoom to, release the mouse button and the map will refresh with the new map being the area inside the box you drew. If you just click in one spot and don't draw a box, the map will zoom into the area with the spot you clicked being the center.
The zoomout button allows the user to zoom out from the current zoom level by a factor of 2X. To activate the zoomout button, single click on the button. You will know the button has been activated when it turns yellow. Once the button has been activated, click once on the map. The map will refresh with the new map zoomed with the spot you clicked being the center.
The pan button allows the user to move the map in any direction without zooming. To activate the pan button, single click on the button. You will know the button has been activated when it turns yellow and the cursor when held over the map turns into arrows that point N, S, E, and W. Once the button has been activated, click once on the map and hold down the mouse button. Now, while holding down the mouse button, drag the mouse in any direction while keeping the mouse in the map area. As you drag the mouse around the map will move with you. When you have repositioned the map to your liking, release the mouse button and the map will redraw in its new position.
The identify button allows the user to retrieve information about a location on the map with a single click. To activate the identify button, single click on the button. You will know the button has been activated when it turns yellow and the cursor when held over the map turns into a arrow with a question mark. Once the button has been activated, click once on the location you are interested in on the map. After you click you will automatically be shown the information available about the spot you clicked at the bottom of the window.
The full extent button allows you to return to the map view that was shown when you first entered the map. If for example the first map you saw was of the entire state, that is what you will get when the map refreshes after clicking the Full Extent button.
The clear layers button allows the user to clear all layers except the default layers. After clicking this button, only those layers that were on when you entered the map will remain on. When you click the button, the wait icon will appear until all layers except the default have been cleared.
The print button allows you to print a high resolution PDF of the currently displayed map. When you click the button, a second window will display with a link to allow you to download the map. You will be able to save it to your hard disk or open it up and print.
