| The Mountain snow water
equivalent map is derived from individual snow course and SNOTEL
site data. The snowpack is measured as to the amount of water the
snowpack contains and is expressed as percent of average.
Snowpack maps are available January 1 through June 1.
National protocols for
watershed mapping differentiate hydrologic units at four levels:
The Basin (1:500,000); Sub-basin (1:250,000); Watershed (1:100,000)
and Sub-watershed (1:24,000) scales. Average percentages
of snow water equivalents are displayed here at the watershed
level.
The snow water equivalent
data are available in three formats; two image formats, PDF and
JPEG, and a text file which describes and lists the data for the
month. To print the map, the PDF image is recommended.
